so Rutgers football is top shit, huh?

Ok, so i don't really like devoting space in my blog to sports, but i must say Thursday night proved to be wild. I totally forgot about the football game when planning my slumber party but decided to keep it on that date anyway since most of my friends weren't going. i decided to go to my greek and roman myth class even though she said she wouldn't pass around an attendance sheet. i counted 18 people (there are over 240 people in that class, it's a lecture course).

went over to college ave and there were drunks all over the place at 8pm. got hit on because i was wearing my backpack and onviously came from a class (though i wore it mostly because i stuffed my overnight gear in it).

so i watched my first RU game ever and it really was insane. the fucking Empire State Building turned all of its lights red for Rutgers and they played the game on the large screens in Times Square played the game. (Fuck you, though, New York, you take everything else away from NJ, you're not taking this away from us). i didn't believe we were actually gonna win and we probably wouldn't have so soon if it weren't for the kid on Lousiville going offsides and giving us another chance to kick.

so TJ and i stocked up on plenty of snacks (his parents are cute and naive and don't question his credit card bill if it comes from a Rutgers store). unfortunatly we only had 20$ for alcohol but we made due.
at about midnight everyone came over (i didn't realize everyone watched the game). and we were next door to a bar. the fucking place erupted with manic uproar and it was insane. you would have thought the superbowl was played here. it took my friends about a half hour to walk two streets down because of all the crowds gathered in the streets. there were couches on fire in the middle of the street, screaming, police everywhere with megaphones, car horns blaring, pot was being smoked everywhere in the open. a few of us took a walk to check shit out and this kid in front of us was openly smoking a joint. a few strangers hung out on TJ's porch. it was pretty surreal and definatly really ridiculous but i am sure nothing like that is ever going to happen in my collegiate career again.

we went downstairs and played apples to apples. fit 8 kids on the couch. i had a really good time.
it was a little strange having a slumber party when everyone was so pumped up though, a few kids came over looking for a rager and found us eating popcorn in our pajambas gossiping. i did the chill kind of parties more anyway.
speaking of which, what's going on for new year's?

ps- i want a dress up and drink out of fancy glasses cocktail party for my birthday (in Jan) so if you live far away make some plans to not be so far away.
