Unicorn skull discovered

In the latest example of the apparent fecundity of nature, a new species of horse was recently discovered with a worn bone on the upper cranuim, which is homologous to a rhinosaurus horn, according to observations.

The animal, which paleontologists have recently classified as an equine variety of the of the genus Calliocebus, was first spotted in 2000 in Bolivia. Observations made since then convinced the discoverers - Dr. Robert Wallace of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Anthropology; Humberto Gomez, a Bolivian biologist; and two Harvard-Smithsonian volunteers, Annika and Adam Felton - that the horse was a new species.It was right next to a homonid- homo florensis apparently the homo could ride the unicorn. Their paper describing the animal has been accepted by taxonomic authorities.
When questioned skeptically about the existence of a new species of horse, particularly one that would ignite controversy over a fantastic creature,Dr Richard Lane, director of science at London's Natural History Museum explained,"About 1.7 million species are known - we suspect there are anything from 10-30 million species on Earth" noting the diverse and immense variety of animal life on Earth.
It has to be said that not all of the science community shares the unrestrained enthusiasm of the anthropologists. While more research is being done and excavations of the area are being performed, it could well be assumed that this discovery will ingite the zeal of Tolkien fans everywhere.
